SESSIONS:
Session 1: June 2 - 6 — Let’s Go Camping
Come pitch a tent, toast marshmallows, and sing silly camp songs. Fish in a pond, track and tame wild animals, and learn some constellations. No mosquitoes allowed!
Session 2: June 9 -13 — All About Me
Making self-portraits, sharing things that you love about yourself and/or family, and reading books that showcase different skin tones are all fun and engaging ways for children to get to know each other and help them appreciate all the ways they differ from each other.
Session 3 : June 16 - 18, 20 (no camp 6/19) — All About Us
We will expand our views to the world around us, from the languages we speak to maps of our area and beyond, flags, books that showcase how we are the same and different, and other fun and engaging activities to help children to get to know each other and appreciate the diversity of their environment.
Session 4: June 23 - 27 — Race Through Outer Space
This week of camp is out of this world! Build a rocket ship and blast into space. Explore the planets and keep an eye out for aliens.
Session 5: June 30, July 1 - 3 (no camp 7/4) — County Fair
Rides, games, farm animals, and crafts are the staples of a great County Fair. Come join our fair and design your own rides, try your luck at the games of skill and chance, enter the cupcake decorating contest, and judge the many animals in the farmyard.
Session 6: July 7 - 11 — Water World - Splish Splash Water Fun
Outside we will explore water slides, wet sand, water misters, and kiddie pools. Inside we will experiment with what dissolves and what doesn’t, what floats and what doesn’t and what happens when you put liquid milk in the freezer (ice cream!).
Session 7: July 14 -18 — Music & Talents
Each day we will make and explore a different musical instrument. Do you (or a friend or family member) have a talent, musical instrument, or song you would like to share with us? We would love to include you in our circle!
Session 8: July 21 - 25 — Bugs, Bees & Butterflies
We love being outside during summer! At APS we enjoy our meals outside, and children often see bees, yellow jackets, and many other insects. What better time to introduce them to the important jobs bees carry and the differences amongst bugs and insects.
